Information provided through a project enquiry
The building quote form collects a name, email address, project location, selected service and a written description. It also records the page associated with the enquiry and an internal submission reference. Provide information relevant to the proposed work. Do not include identity documents, payment details, financial records or sensitive personal information in the general description. Where another person’s information is involved, first consider whether it is necessary and whether you are authorised to provide it.
Purpose of the enquiry information
Project details support the requested building enquiry and the communication needed to understand it. They are not a separate subscription to promotional marketing. The enquiry notice presented with the form should identify how the information will be used and the relevant recipient or recipient category. Read that notice before agreeing to contact about the project. Providing an email address for a quote enquiry should not be treated as agreement to unrelated advertising.
Records, delivery and access
A successful form submission creates a private WordPress enquiry record. An authorised delivery route may send the relevant details to the enquiry inbox identified in the service’s arrangements. The website does not publish the enquiry as a public page or automatically distribute it indiscriminately to building businesses. The operator must identify the actual organisations and service providers involved, including hosting and mail services, and restrict access to those who need it for the stated purpose.
Checks that protect the form
The form validates required fields and email format and applies duplicate-submission, honeypot and rate controls. Rate control uses a server-generated value derived from the connection address rather than placing that address into the public project description. These controls support the operation of the enquiry form. They are separate from optional analytics and do not require a homeowner to accept Google Maps before submitting an enquiry.
Optional analytics and Google Maps
Analytics and Maps have separate preference choices. Optional Google Analytics runs only when enabled for this website and accepted by the visitor. The site’s analytics events are limited to page and service information rather than enquiry names, emails, postcodes or descriptions. Loading a Google map connects to Google and may involve Google storage or cookies. Map content remains blocked until the relevant choice; declining it does not prevent use of the enquiry form.
Saved preferences
The website uses browser local storage to remember analytics and Maps choices for up to 180 days. It does not put the contents of the project enquiry into that preference record. Use Privacy preferences in the footer to change the choices. Withdrawing an optional choice prevents further corresponding activity through the site controls, but it does not by itself erase enquiry records already held or information previously received by a third party.
Your information and concerns
Individual rights depend on the circumstances and legal basis for handling the information. You can raise access, correction or deletion concerns with the responsible operator through its privacy contact and can make a data-protection complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Verification may be needed before information is released or changed. Identify the enquiry where possible and describe the concern without sending more personal information than is needed to consider it.
Keeping information accurate and proportionate
If your project information changes, make clear which details are being corrected and identify the relevant enquiry where possible. Avoid sending unnecessary documents merely to demonstrate the change. Retention depends on the purposes for which the information is held and the applicable operational or legal requirements. A browser preference change is not a request to erase project records, so use the privacy contact for questions about information already held.
YOUR QUESTIONS
Privacy Policy — Questions and Answers
Do I have to accept analytics or Maps to send an enquiry?
The quote form is independent of those optional features. You can reject optional analytics and Google Maps and still provide the project information required by the form. The essential form checks and the optional feature preferences serve different purposes; selecting one should not silently enable another or turn the enquiry into a promotional-marketing signup.
What should I avoid including in the project description?
Keep it to the building work, property location and information useful for the enquiry. Do not include identity documents, financial records, card details or sensitive household information. If further documents are requested, establish their purpose and recipient before sending them, and remove unrelated personal information where appropriate.
Does changing cookie preferences delete my enquiry?
Browser preferences control optional website features. They do not automatically delete a private project record already saved or recall information previously sent to an authorised recipient. Questions about enquiry information should be addressed to the responsible operator through the published privacy contact, identifying the enquiry sufficiently for the request to be considered.
